I had put my PC into sleep mode with applications open so that I didn't have to shut it down and continue working later. After a couple of hours I wanted to reactivate it, but I only got a green screen with the mouse pointer. I then switched it off again and tried again after a while. After several attempts, I left it after each time the screen stopped and nothing went. Can someone help and tell you how to restart your PC normally? It is a laptop with Windows 8.1 on it.
Hold the on / off button until it goes out completely and then let it boot normally.
Maybe you interrupted an update and deleted the bootloader that was in the volatile RAM memory…
Windows repair can help, especially with original media.
Alternatively there's google way or reinstall Windows.
You could start the PC in safe mode. If that works, you can deactivate the energy-saving mode and then test whether the PC starts up normally again.

I've done this a couple of times because it can't be shut down normally in this condition. But after switching on, the green screen with the mouse pointer appears again and again.
Have now pressed the on / off button for 10 seconds, then waited 5 seconds and then briefly pressed again. Now he has started normally and everything is back to normal.
