I bought a USB 3.0 to VGA adapter from Amazon. My laptop serves as a computer and is connected to an external monitor with the Adatper. Everything works wonderfully. Only when the laptop goes into energy-saving mode and I bring it back is the resolution really bad (800 x 600). Then I can no longer change, after a restart everything is normal and good again. What else can you adjust? I do not want to do without the energy saving mode because of this. I have already set the energy saving plan so that it should not save with USB and I have also deactivated the energy saving for the USB controllers in the device manager.
Apparently the adapter has a problem initializing from standby mode. Does your external monitor have other inputs than VGA?
