Stand PC with Thunderbolt 3 Dock operate?

I would ask all to answer only if you have either experience or are really knowledgeable.

The following situation: At the moment I only have one laptop which I always connect to my Thunderbolt 3 Dock at home to quickly connect my monitor, keyboard, mouse and PC speakers with a cable.

Now I want to buy a PC to be able to play occasionally games because I do not want to install games on my laptop, which I mainly use for studying, in addition to the fact that the performance would be too low.

If I buy a PC, although I save all the documents for my studies in the cloud anyway, I have to use my laptop for learning because I can flip it over to write on it digitally (I do not use any more notes).

My consideration: I buy a PC with Thunderbolt connection (Or upgrade this) to simply have to replace the one cable at the dock and so can always alternate between PC and laptop. Is this a good idea to connect to the PC synonymous only with this one Thunderbolt cable (because of factors such as latency, for example) or is there a better solution for my situation?

Is a very good solution, nice few cables. You can connect an external hard drive to the dock, then you can use data on both. But keep in mind that Thunderbolt 3 is a pretty expensive proposition. You either need a matching motherboard or an expansion card. The latency is minimal, Thunderbolt 3 is very powerful 40GB / s.

Thank you for the fast answer! It's not cheap, of course, but that's what I value in the end.
