Up to how many degrees can you use DSLR, laptop?

Since I'm very interested in astrophotography and do my own astrophotography, and only one winter down was only with DSLR, without tracking, and also no hour, I wonder, can the laptop be used outside at 0 °? Or there may be damage. Then it's 12 o'clock in the dark. And what about DSLRs, use an EOS 77D, according to a Youtuber no matter, only the battery does not last too long.

Is the picture of you How can I see something like that?

Ar

To see, rather difficult. Photographically yes, but you need a tracking device, telescope refractor, (apo) or a reflector, one that I use, yes the picture is mine, but it was too cold for me, it was created by only 55x50s

So you only see black first and then when you zoom you see this cosmos? Or do you already see a few stars. Because everything is black with me. I'm such a fan of these pictures, so I want to see something with my own eyes.

Zooming alone is useless, you need exposure time. In my case it was 50 seconds and 55 pictures. And remember, a lot of deepsky objects are big so don't enlarge too big.

But then think without tracking you will not get very far.

Thank you. And very nice pictures if you publish them.

Ar

Yes, no problem, they are all on my computer.

For the laptop there's definitely an instruction manual or manufacturer information (should also be found online), in which temperature range the laptop and its battery can be operated safely.

I would not operate or store the battery at below 0 ° C. I was there during a film shoot in winter, when a person's battery burst in frost, they only noticed it because the battery suddenly swelled up, became warm and liquid ran out. This is dangerous because batteries very often contain chemicals that are caustic and / or toxic.

So better operate the laptop with a power cord. If extension cables are required, only use those that are also suitable for outdoors. There are certainly cables where you can connect the laptop to the car, which then gets power from the car battery.

Where I would be careful is very high humidity. As soon as 100% relative air humidity is exceeded, which is often the case at night, water vapor from the air condenses to dew (in frost to frost) or fog. This can also happen on the laptop (short circuit under the keys possible) or if the laptop is not well sealed, moisture can get inside from outside and water drops or ice crystals can form there, which in the worst case can lead to total damage.

However, there are waterproof laptops for outdoor applications in various protection / density classes (see e.g. Here: https://mittronik.com/de/computer/outdoor-laptop.php).

A camera can collect light in the time dimension and add it up to a photo. The eye can only collect light spatially and, so to speak, only see the moment.
