My laptop is around 2-3 years old now & is buzzing. This hum is really loud and it sounds like something is going in circles. (I don't have a CD drive) I'm interested on the one hand what this hum is or what it comes from and on the other hand how do I get rid of the hum.
Could be due to the hard drive, sometimes to someone who knows their way around and read the reviews and if it is not then fan that is but very unlikely is more hard drive
Probably the fan!
Dirty or dead!
Either open it yourself (without electricity and battery) or give it to a professional.
Probably a fan that is unbalanced and vibrates heavily. Laptops usually have 1-2 fans. Definitely with the CPU, and sometimes with the GPU.
Up until now, it was often easy to replace those on the CPU by unscrewing the laptops. But depending on your laptop, be careful, they are built in layers, only do it if you have a clue and patience. Because look carefully at what you put away and how, so that you can put it back together and screw it together again afterwards. There's nothing more stupid when you have everything back together in the end and one screw is over or the laptop no longer starts.
That should be something mechanical that turns. A fan is very likely. The more runtime you have under your belt, the worse the smoothness. It's best to change the humming top.
For a short time, tapping the device briefly and (not too hard) sometimes helps. But don't overdo it!
Thank you for your great sufficient answer.
I always go ahead and disassemble the PC and / or laptop, but that works again afterwards when I do something!
So you don't always have to know what it works!
But spas aside ONLY because I know what I'm doing when I put it back together. It works the way it should!
It depends on whether it is a DDR hard drive or an SSD memory!
so my laptop now has 2 SSD memory in it, before it had 1 DDR and an SSD but with 2 SSD's it's so better!
