I'm a rider and got a go-pro about 2 years ago. (Unfortunately, I don't really know my way around.) I still remember that it was actually relatively cheap. Unfortunately I can't name the model. I have already filmed a few times with the cam, but there were always some problems. For one thing, it was always the case that when I recorded a video, I wanted to transmit it. I was able to transfer it to the laptop without any problems. The sound and video, everything was fine. However, when I wanted to transfer the video from my laptop to my cell phone, there was always a problem. The video ended up in the gallery, but when I wanted to play it, only the sound ran. The picture was gray and there was always something like "format error" or something.
The second problem is that the cam often just goes out while filming, although there's still enough memory and the battery is still full. I only notice that after the ride.
Maybe one of you has an idea of what you could do there? Is it because the cam was so "cheap"?
Unfortunately I don't know my way around so sorry in advance!
Would appreciate answers.
A GoPro costs around 500 euro - but of course that is not cheap in the lower area for cameras. However, the price is not the reason.
The GoPro normally saves everything in .h264 via. Mp4 container. So far, all common smartphones can play that. Possibly. If the frame rate was set too high - problems can arise if you record with 120+ FPS. If you don't need super slow motion, just set it to 30 or 60 frames.
Otherwise, you also have the option of converting videos for smartphones via iTunes on iPhones. I think that is also possible with Android smartphones, but I do not know any software for the PC or with Android there are of course so many different versions - you would first have to see which formats your version can play.
I now assume that your Actioncam was not a GoPro but a China clone. Can it be that it overheats or something does not fit with the settings, that it simply switches off. Just search for the problem on Google with the model name.
You may need to download another video player on your phone. The video code of GoPros and most alternatives is mostly .h264. Just download the VCL player or MXPlayer, they should support that
