I have a laptop again. In Task Manager, my disk is often at 100%. Here are the names of the programs which contribute:
-Trend Micro Internet Security (My antivirus, I uninstalled)
-"System"
- "Service Host: Local System (2)"
- Antimalware Service
- "Service Host Superfetch"
I noticed that the volume load always fluctuates, that is, there are moments in which it is at 100%, and then again moments where it is normal at 0%. I have the laptop in operation for about 15 hours at most.
Here are the details of the system:
8 GM RAM, Latest Windows, 1.5 TB HDD, No SSD, i5 Processor, 64 Bit
Let's go through the thing, to 90% it has been the update and just the anti-malware service just need its time until it has scanned the hard drive for the first time. And please do not always switch off or restart, then it starts all over again.
especially with HDD because we had to wait a few hours until everything was up to date and scanned.
That's perfectly normal. Superfetch is a service that takes up all memory at short notice to calculate how to get started which program faster. It's even good. If it bothers you, you can disable it, but in general, Superfetch will not affect your laptop's performance.
And to the antivirus: Most are not good, I would take the Windows 10 easy, which is quite sufficient.
Of course, if your laptop is up to 15 hours in use, performance may naturally go down because most laptops are getting too hot quite quickly.
You can safely switch off the SuperFetch service.
Then it may take longer to launch individual programs, but if you do nothing actively, you will not potentially unnecessarily use resources.
That with the 15 hours was related to the entire use, since it was still very new. Say in total I used the PC for about 15 hours
