Connect 2.0 USB stick to 3.0 port? More quickly?

My notebook includes a USB 2.0 port and two USB 3.0 ports.

Now I only have USB sticks in the 2.0 version at home.

Does it make sense to connect this to the 3.0 interface anyway? Is there a difference in read / write speed?

Te

That definitely makes sense. But that doesn't make them any faster.

How does it make sense if the speed of the transfer is the same?

ke

No, it won't get any faster…

All devices can only work as fast as the slowest device.

In other words: If you insert a 2.0 USB stick into the 3.0 slot, the 3.0 slot will not be able to provide its full performance.

These days, USB 3.0 sticks are no longer expensive and are really worthwhile if you have to take many or large files with you.

Thanks, that was helpful x)

Because it's "nonsense" to worry about. It is not necessary to first search the computer and classify all USB ports because they are all downwardly compatible. You can save time because the sticks work everywhere anyway.
