I have a laptop with only 2 ports. 1x Micro-USB → which I need to power, and 1x HDMI (almost the same size as Micro USB). I have a Lenovo YogaBook.
So that I can move data from the USB stick to my external hard drive etc, but I still need at least 2 USB ports. I really do not want to use the Micro-USB port because I still need the power supply.
As far as I know, the HDMI port is designed for monitors, right? Is there or is it compatible to connect a USB hub to an HDMI port on the laptop? Or make the HDMI port compatible with an adapter for USB?
Unfortunately, I do not come out of it, and when I try online to inform and look at different hubs, I get a huge plug / connection / cable salad and lose even more overview.
What kind of laptop do you have? Sure it's Micro-USB and not maybe Type-C, Micro USB is now quite rare. Then it would be easy.
The HDMI output can also be used only for screens.
Is it a new laptop? Then it will probably be more USB-C, have not seen a laptop get its power via micro-USB…
If it should be USB-C () right plug, you can just buy a USB-C HUB (for example Sowas https://www.amazon.de/...075FGQ988/ where then everything is in it.
I have a Lenovo Yogabook, model yb1-x91f.

Is that a type C?
No, the type C is rounder. But like a micro USB, it does not look like it…
