Which cable should I choose for 144hz if my laptop doesn't have a DisplayPort?

I have connected a laptop to my monitor, the monitor has 144hz and I want to use it too! Which cable should I choose to get 144hz? Or adapter?

HDMI only comes up to 120

If I assume that your screen resolution is 1080p, it works with an HDMI 2.0 cable (provided your laptop also supports HDMI 2.0 or higher).
