Deactivate Windows 10 product key on 1 laptop and use it on a second laptop directly?

As described above, I can deactivate my Windows 10 key on my second laptop and activate it on my first laptop immediately.

ma

That depends on the license. If it is device-bound (e.g. OEM licenses) and already registered with Microsoft, it may happen that activation on another system (which is recognized by the board / CPU using the serial number) is not possible.

I had to call the Microsoft customer hotline before because I had to replace the motherboard due to a defect and Windows could no longer be activated. But they reset the previous activation without hesitation on the grounds. But that wasn't an OEM license either.

Yes.
Simply stop using Windows 10 on the old laptop (e.g. Play Linux or just stop hanging the box on the network).

You can also use the key for other hardware. But then you just have to call Microsoft free of charge and enter a number of numbers and then enter the numbers given by the hotline on the PC (goes automatically, is "one machine").

Have done it often enough, hence my knowledge.

Ke

Hey what do you mean (or just stop hanging the box on the net).

turn off my internet?

2 question: can't I just deactivate the product key heard that should also be possible?

Ke

Ehm I just found in Google that you can just use the CMD to uninstall the key on your old PC. I'll try it if it doesn't work with my current problem

do you mean something with that or is it something else

https://www.giga.de/...-so-gehts/

because what they show in the link doesn't seem to be that he unlocks the new hardware or?

Ke

Hey yes thanks I'll just try it out I can always play the code on it again I just wonder if I uninstall the key from the old laptop and I don't know at all how my manufacturer knows how to reactivate it with my Microsoft account or not because you can do that with the MS account only when reinstalling that he automatically recognizes the key from the account?

je

That in the link is what I mean. You will be asked to activate the Windows. If you enter the key → it will either say "you have to call" or "you have to buy a key".

If only "Buy key" is specified → with

slui 4
do as described at giga.

Ke

Understand more but why are you with or I have to call is that the real support then a real worker there or what do you mean because when you buy the variant you say yes I can use the variant of fifa and then calling is what?

Ke

Text reworked stupid iPhone 😏

understand more but what do you mean with or I have to call is that the real support then a real worker there or what do you mean because when you buy variant you say yes I can use the variant of GIGA and then calling is what?

You use the key.
It is displayed that it must be activated by phone.
You call the number from Microsoft and activate your Windows.
All is well.

That's how easy it is.

Ke

For the question there's a program that reads the key but then I still have the question so I bought my laptop online from Acer yes and it seems to be an OEM key and not a retail but what I'm asking now I should call support and They turn it on for me on the new PC and I add the key back to the old laptop after 1 day. Can that cause problems?

ma

This is most likely an OEM key if you received it with the laptop. It is quite possible that they will not release it for another device. But you can just pretend to be stupid. And as long as they don't change anything, that doesn't lock up for the old laptop either.

A Windows 10 Home Key also only costs around 20 euro. So not the world.
