I installed Linux Lubuntu on my laptop using a USB stick and then restarted. Then it says that I should remove the installation medium and press enter. If I remove the USB stick, a warning appears that no boot device was found or selected. Since I have already installed Linux on the HDD, I put the HDD in the first place in the boot menu and still boots via the USB. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong and does anyone know a solution?
Vll in the BIOS what set wrong
Since I have installed Ubuntu many times, I think
that if the installation was successful, the whole thing should work.
Ubuntu installs a boot menu. In this you can with different
Select BS e.g. Win 7 and Lubuntu.
That should work with the right boat selection.
The prerequisites are that all necessary partitions have been created
Eg boot, swap root etc.
Maybe you are looking for a knowledgeable person in your area.
If nothing works, you boot a live session and start gparted.
With this you can examine and check the created partitions.
Thank you for your answer.
I'm already in the menu where I can select Lubuntu to boot but only via the USB stick. I do not understand how I get it on the HDD.
My suggestion is to start a live session and use gparted to examine the HDD.
The installation routine asks you where to install.
Okay thanks. I need a second USB stick for that, right?
I suspect you made the classic mistake when setting up the boot manager "grub" and installed it in the MBR of the first partition (e.g. / dev / sda1).
However, it must be installed in the MBR of the hard disk (e.g. / dev / sda). Instructions for repair can be found here:

Take what you have, when you go to Lubuntu you will be asked
A language and
B Live or Install.
