I have to submit my thesis in addition to the bound in digital version.
For this I have the pdf saved on a commercially available CD. When I inserted the blank, the PC has displayed it and I could also save the pdf on it, but now I get the file on the CD but no longer displayed.
When I put the CD into my age-old laptop with WindowsXP, the pdf on the CD was shown to me without any problems and opened.
I have a 2nd laptop with Windows 10 and I have the same problem that there are no files on the CD.
The pdf is definitely on the CD, but I do not understand the problem and do not want to risk that it means in the end, on my disks would be nothing on it.
Does anyone know the problem and can help?
Did you burn the CD under Windows 10? Otherwise just burn again. CD blanks cost almost nothing today. The best way to burn the PDF then with Nero on the CD.
Yes, I burned the CD with my new laptop, apparently also worked, because with the old Windows XP laptop I can open the pdf file without any problems. But the laptop with which I burned the pdf on the CD does not show it anymore. I have to hand in 3 copies of my work, so I already burned 3 CDs and all have the same problem. Burning a fourth does not make any difference.
Then try out Adobe Reader. If even Adobe Reader does not show anything in the CD, something will probably go wrong when burning.
If something went wrong when I burned, then my old laptop would not show me the file.
After reinserting the CDs several times I get the file now on one of the 3 CDs. I have now burned two more CDs with my old laptop, and then, when I insert them into the new one, everything works. I have no idea where the problem lies, but as long as I have 3 readable CDs to deliver…
