Why doesn't the laptop boot anymore?

My laptop has not started up recently. Every time I try to start the laptop I get the error message "bad system confic". I really need the laptop. Does anyone know how I can fix the peibkem?

Please post the entire error message and be precise. When is it displayed exactly? Do you have a backup of the system and the current data? What was the last thing that happened before the computer went on strike?

Boot from a Windows stick or DVD and try to restore the last working version. Make sure to make backups!
