I recently bought a FullHD 144 Hz monitor that came with a DP cable. This cable doesn't fit my laptop and I was quickly overwhelmed by the search for adapters. Which adapter is recommended so that no performance is lost? Is a DP to USB adapter sufficient or should I buy a mini-HDMI cable (the monitor also has a mini-HDMI connection)
And are the cheap cables worth it?
It doesn't matter which adapter you use, because the laptop won't be able to use the 144Hz completely anyway.
Which adapter you should buy depends on which connections are available on the notebook.
Doesn't help if you buy Displayport on Gardena garden hose, but your notebook only offers high voltage power and a trailer connection.
Mini HDMI.
If it works, a cheap cable is enough, the whole thing is a digital signal and the built-in error correction ensures that it is displayed correctly.
There are NO streaks, blurring or noise with digital signals!
