In my household, the Wi-Fi has not been accessible for almost 24 hours. The WLAN only works if it is connected directly to the router via a LAN cable. It does not work on all other end devices (smartphones, laptops, Alexa, etc.).
We have a Fritzbox 7490 router in the Telekom network and as far as I know it works for other people in the vicinity (500m - 1km) too.
The WLAN is displayed on the smartphone, (picture in the attachment) but in the notification bar with a! Behind it.
We have already tried to restart the router.
What could be the obvious problem or how could you fix it?
"WLAN via cable is called LAN".
A neighbor on the same channel probably shines "pure" → change channel.
Hey I've had the problem several times, but with a restart please take a look at https://avm.de/...Z-Box-her/
There should be the classic:
MAC filter (or as it is called in the FritzBox "Allow all new WLAN devices" is deactivated in the security of the WLAN there.
Sure: You can also use Wi-Fi in this way, only you would need to know each MAC address and release it there.
Is the classic: More security always means a cut in user-friendliness.
The WLAN only works if it is connected directly to the router via a LAN cable.
Huh? There's no Wi-Fi with cable. That is exactly why it is called WLAN and with LAN. Do you mean that you only have internet access if your end device is connected to the router via a network cable?
The WLAN is displayed on the smartphone, (picture in the attachment) but in the notification bar with a! Behind it.
There's no picture in the appendix. Open the settings dialog for the WLAN on the end device. There should be a text on the corresponding network. Name this together with the operating system of the end device.
Shot in the blue: the Wi-Fi indicator light on the router is on? If so, remove the connection on the end device and reconnect… The most error-tolerant is the scanning of the QR code that appears in the FritzBox configuration dialog when the WLAN setting de is called up. At the same time, check whether the neighbour's WLAN network has the same name. WLAN networks should never be left at the manufacturer's default setting.
Would you like to follow the tips from @GamingNRW or @ ersiees23?
And also the question of me that the WLAN diode on the router lights up correctly?
