Why doesn't Shift work anymore?

I have a laptop and Shift no longer works on the keyboard. But more interesting, neither the left nor the right. I have already made several restarts, reinstalled the keyboard drivers and a friend even installed a Linux operating system and it doesn't work either. I usually have Windows 10. All other keys work. So what could be the problem and its solution?

That doesn't read well. If even Linux can't do it, we can completely rule out a setting or software problem.

If the BIOS doesn't show what this can affect - and I honestly don't know what kind of BIOS setting could trigger this symptom, it can only be a hardware defect. Since both SHIFT keys have failed, it is probably not the pressure sensors, but possibly a chip that spins and no longer sends the signal / interrupt to the processor as expected.

Exchanging internal keyboards on laptops is a horror. But depending on how you use the laptop, an external keyboard would be a conceivable solution before you completely write off the device.

Yeah, maybe try an external keyboard first, otherwise you can / do the internal swapping depending on whether you can do this to yourself.
