I would like to have a new laptop, because mine keeps hanging up, my things are just disappearing, online lessons run smoothly and the battery is constantly empty and no matter what I try to change it is of no use
I had Windows 10 on it until a year ago and because the problem has played a role for about 3 years, I switched to the operating system "Linux" because I was told that it does not require as much background resources as Windows 10
Despite the new system, nothing works. That means: typing for school either doesn't take notes or hangs up and the whole program breaks off, video conferences, especially in online lessons, hardly or not at all (I always have the resolution at almost the lowest level (otherwise I don't recognize anything if I do scale it down even further) and yet the program hangs or just stops and YouTube videos don't work at all.
I've set up the laptop several times and checked for viruses, but it doesn't change.
I don't think of "tuning software" because they are just kidding and it doesn't work.
My laptop has an Intel i3 built in 4 GB RAM and a 500gb HDD
In short: my 7 year old laptop doesn't work anymore and you can't work on it anymore. But especially in online classes I need it, but it doesn't work anymore.
That's why I would like to have a new one, just I don't know how to ask my parents, because most of them think it would be the system and not the laptop, but the programs and systems are also being revised and require higher standards.
Do you have any ideas how to ask or persuade my parents to bring me a new laptop?
Is it possible to deduct this from taxes?
Do you have any ideas?
(And my family is financially well positioned)
Show them your problems in it
You are a student. Since you do not pay taxes there's nothing deductible!
simply describe the SV to the parents. And that you need this to work for school
Thanks for your answer, but what do you mean by "SV"?
Facts. Basically what you explained to us. If a used one does, there are really good offers on classified ads
Facts
I would also like one if it is in good condition and paperwork or homework, video conference and browser run without hanging
Depending on what your parents do for a living, you can also deduct them from tax. This is possible if a parent is self-employed. I don't know how old you are, but for students the school sometimes offers (so it is at least for me) to provide every student with a laptop.
Facts
My mother is a teacher and my father is a computer scientist
With T60 for 100 euro you can also do all your tasks.
I have two from it-mix and I'm satisfied.

But better W7 or Lubuntu on it.
Then take a look at eBay classifieds and be sure to look and test beforehand
Call it-mix, there's very good advice, you say what you need and price; There you will surely find what you need. With laptops, you also have to say what keyboard you need. I need keyboards for programmers. I exchanged free of charge.
If your father is not an employee but a self-employed person, he can deduct that from the tax.
