I bought a 144hz monitor, but I only have an HDMI port on my laptop, but a display port on my monitor. How can I solve that and use the full 144hz?

Over HDMI 1.0 is only 60Hz

via HDMI 1.4 go up to 120 Hz

from HDMI 2.0 144 Hz could be generated

I guess your lap top won't do that

So could I get 144hz with a monitor that has HDMI 2.0, an HDMI 2.1 cable and an HDMI 2.0 port on my laptop?

Yes, if you could just say that. So with a Dual Link DVI cable it works and with a display port it works. Maybe with HDMI 2.0 at least 120Hz I know for sure. I take no responsibility for more.
