Internet interruptions on the home-made PC?

I have had Internet interruptions on my PC for a long time - it is connected to the router with an Ethernet cable, but in the basement - my office on the 1st floor. What can be the problem that I have irregular internet interruptions? If I connect my notebook to the same Ethernet cable, I have no interruptions. (I also built my PC myself) - but I can't identify the problem with troubleshooting, etc. What are the steps to fix / determine this? According to the telecommunications provider, the problem isn't theirs (they ran tests).

Fr

Reinstall the driver from your LAN port

I have the same problem… However, I haven't tried it on the notebook. Which mainboard do you have?

Ha

It's a shame that you don't write which mainboard you are using, which Windows and whether you have installed security software or VPN software. Unfortunately, you don't say anything about your skills either.

I would install the mainboard drivers that are included on the mainboard DVD or from the manufacturer's website, because they are more up-to-date, download and install them. Often times that fixes the problem.

From experience… It is almost always not your fault… Instead, the network operator changes something at your place…

If you have looked in the device manager under network devices, right mouse button - properties - energy management - whether there's a checkmark under "Computer can switch off device to save energy", click this out.

Dr

Hi thanks for your answer - unfortunately I didn't have that in the properties only General, Advanced, Drivers, Details, Events, Resources. I have several network adapters so Ipv6 - IP, IKEv2, etc. And then the family controller.

MSI B350M Gaming Pro (MS-7A39) - I don't know whether I have security software or VPN software.

Dr

Thank you I installed the driver of the adapter (https://www.computerbase.de/downloads/treiber/netzwerk/realtek-ethernet-controller-driver/) let's see.

Dr

I have now turned this off with the USB controllers, i.e. With AMD SB and USB Root Hub - should hopefully not switch off / interrupt anymore if I get in touch - thank you!

Fr

Excellent!

Dr

Unfortunately still interruptions - just had one…

Dr

Unfortunately unsuccessful - this option can't be selected for the network adapters?

Fr

Then it's either the internet or the mainboard

Dr

Then I'll look again tomorrow and update it again - lan port driver = network adapter? It is not due to the internet, since it works without problems with the notebook - are there other settings on the motherboard?

na

Unfortunately I have another… I've been looking for a solution for months. I think I'll get a Wi-Fi adapter soon

Fr

If you're using a network adapter, update it
