Why does a laptop have to be reset during a repair?

My sister has repaired her laptop at Media Markt due to a warranty claim. They then had to change the fan, because this slight pressure on the housing stopped spinning.

Then he just asked us if we have a backup of the system, so we have.

But now my question, why does the whole system have to be reset with a fan replacement?

I mean, I've often changed laptops, fans, keyboards and displays, but never reset them.

One has nothing to do with the other. Data can also be eg. If you get lost due to a failed repair, it's still better to have a backup.

It does not have to, it's just easier. - If they sell you scrap, they can always claim that the unit is working in "home state" or "factory settings" (e).

The fact that normally more software is installed on a system is "those" does not care.

But now my question, why does the whole system have to be reset with a fan replacement?

Resetting has the advantage that the technician can check the system if there are other problems, e.g. From the user unnoticed exist.

The backup of you can dub again at any time.

In most cases with me (clientele) I send the laptops without a hard disk. And if the hard drive is defective, I can easily replace it in my shop. If the customer wants to have his data, he gets a leaflet with important addresses of data rescue companies in hand. If the data on the hard drive is readable, I try to save the data, but this is always a paid matter And legally for data loss, I secure by contract.
