I would like to make a pendisplay, but have a pretty bad laptop (4 gb Ram). Do I need a new ram or other parts to sign with a pendisplay?
I'm assuming that you mean a graphics tablet. Well first of all you have to know which model you mean and which OS you use on your laptop.
In general, you can say that you should only pay attention that the graphics tablet your BS used and possibly your graphics software, for example. Photoshop supported. The basic possibilities of a graphics tablet (position mouse pointer, click mouse click) are no problem, it is more difficult with the functions based on the pressure-dependent possibilities. Here you should be smart beforehand whether desired hardware and software harmonize easily with each other.
As far as the hardware requirements for the tray are concerned, you should not have any problems with 98% probability, a graphics tablet has no high in this regard.
BUT: A graphics tablet is just an input device, on the other side is the graphics software. And this will be more of a drag on your plans, less the graphics tablet. For example, Photoshop. Photoshop (no matter which version) with 4GB RAM to operate very quickly no fun. As can very quickly 32GB to the bottleneck. With 4GB of RAM, Photoshop will quickly start offloading data from RAM to disk. And woe you have no SSD, but only an HDD in it. You really need a lot of patience. It will certainly work, but fun is something else.
But nothing is known exactly. Call BS, graphics software you use, and a graphics tablet you're looking for, if you want a more specific answer. A ppar of information more than "4GB of RAM" on your laptop would also be very helpful.
Graphics tablet or really pendisplay? In the pensdisplay you have the graphics tablet with a monitor in one - these are usually quite expensive and so you can fully exploit the advantages of such a device - is more power and more RAM of advantage -
So yes, it will run hochwarschinlich (compare system requirements of the driver of your desired model with your pc specs)
but consider that the graphics program still has to run so + Gimp / Photoshop / Illustrator / krita etc.
BUT - with 4gb ram you will not have so much joy in digital drawing - because high resolution in the graphics program + several levels of ram and eat a lot - that is very fast slow and stocky - and if you draw only small, the files are not at the end better than when you draw on paper and scan…
Tip - if you do not have a decent pc and like in digital art purely - buy a cheap beginner tablet without display (there are 20 euro) and save the money first on a reasonably clever pc - because pendisplays are expensive - for the money that one good pendisplay costs you can buy a middle class desctop pc…
if you first start with digital art try that also times with someone from the appropriate setup before you have so much money
