I'm looking for a good and free video editing program to cut / edit YouTube videos myself. I also created an intro on a website. Unfortunately this is an MKV file. Unfortunately, my video editor on my laptop can't process them. Do you have any advice?

Davinci Resolve or Shotcut. Should both accept mkv
I can recommend Shotcut to you. I know Shotcut has quite a few enemies, but for being free, it's good.
I used the OBS program. There you can edit in MKV files.

OBS is not a video editing program.
