I have 4 HDMI connections on my TV and when I try to connect my laptop to it, the TV does not recognize an HDMI signal. My laptop, however, recognizes the 2nd screen (i.e. The TV). Could it be that all 4 HDMI connections are defective? Or is there another explanation?
No, you have to switch the TV to HDMI reception
You also have to select the correct input on the TV.
I did it. With all four
I did it
If you reveal more about the TV and the laptop (make and model, for example), someone might be able to help you.
The HDMI inputs are only switched, if a defect on the board is the reason why no device is recognized with HDMI then the error occurs over all HDMI inputs.
Do you have another device with an HDMI connection that you can connect as a test?
Yes, I tried another TV, where the hdmi connection worked without any problems
Then your TV has a defect on the board for the HDMI input, which would then have to be repaired.
No, unfortunately not. Do you have any idea what a repair could cost?
This is not cheap because the entire board is exchanged, the repair itself does not cost much, but the spare parts costs always drive the price up.
Check if there's a repair cafe near you, if you are lucky someone can repair it cheaply

Could a VGA adapter also be a solution? So that I'm converting VGA to HDMI?
If the TV has a scart input then you can order the converter, it will give the same result
Thanks a lot! Converter has been ordered, I'm glad that I could avoid repairs.
