Laptop purchase - do you have purchase recommendations?

1. What do you want to use your laptop for?

I mainly want to use streaming content, flash content and occasional office applications. Small, lean programs should rarely be programmed using Visual Studio.

1.1. Do you want to use the laptop primarily in a mobile or stationary manner? How mobile should the laptop be? Should it be a 2in1 notebook / convertible?

Since I commute very often between home and my girlfriend, it should be usable on the go.

Unfortunately I don't know what convertible means or what advantages I have with it.

1.2. If you want to play games: which games? What level of detail?

Browser games and games that are played at the lowest graphics level are said to be predominant.

It is more important to me that the games can be played smoothly. Nice games are nice even without high graphics - at least for me.

1.3. Music / image / video editing or CAD: Which software? Professional or hobby?

I like to use Movie Studio 14 for this, and it is more of a hobby.

2. How big should the display be? Do you want a touchscreen or a particularly high display quality?

Best to have 14 inches. A touchscreen is not absolutely necessary - cool if it were touchable.

3. How long should the battery life be?

The best thing to do is to hold it for around 6 hours of use.

4. Which operating system do you want to use? Is there a license? Should the notebook already have an operating system preinstalled? Can you get Windows through university?

Windows 10 - I can also install the operating system myself. Software and license are available.

5. Are there any other special requirements that were not queried? Big hard drive? Number pad? Keyboard backlight? Pen support? Docking via USB-C / Thunderbolt 3? CD / DVD drive?

A DVD drive is desirable. A num block should already be. The bigger the hard drive, the better it is usually.

6. Maximum budget?

500 euro.

I think you now have a small overview and now the question of all questions:

Do you have a buy recommendation?

With the latest Ryzen 4000 processor.

Are there more alternatives? If so, which ones are also available? Unfortunately the item can't be ordered or is not available. : /

Difficult. Most likely the one: https://www.notebooksbilliger.de/...nbb=45c48c

But they are not all that special in the price range.

Used purchase. My son got a Lenovo professional laptop for EUR 360. Tip-top condition, however, two years old.

I would advise against an optical drive. It is cheaper to buy an external one for a few euro and only plug it in via USB if necessary. The new ones no longer need a power supply. I don't know when I last used mine - must have been months ago.

Alternatively, Aldi (Medion = lenovo!) Has great things in the class. But I haven't seen 14 "yet.

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad S145.

It runs smoothly. I play games like Minecraft and Forge of Empires on it and then I program in the various editors Java, C #, Visual Studio & HTML / CSS. The laptop is great, but it also cost me 500 euro. Got it from the Media Markt.

Btw: Win10 was preinstalled the Pro version

Take a look at Amazon under "used laptops".

I looked again. My son has a Lenovo ThinkPad X250 including the Ultra Dock for 360 EUR, 8 GB RAM, 256 SSD, i5 processor. However, the 250 is quite small. For you a 300 or 500 would be more suitable.

But you can connect a giant screen to the dock if you want.

This is a professional box for little money.

If you decide on a new device, I would recommend it: https://www.otto.de/...=978300090 The price-performance ratio is very good with this equipment. For internet, streaming services, office, simple image processing, simple graphics programs etc. Very suitable.
