Hello people question is up. I do not really understand the differences. I would buy a pair for PC use, listen to music, gamble and quite normal to have the best sound. He is connected to me via the laptop.
The main difference is the design with DT 770 Do you hear the least of your environment DT 880 do you hear more and with the DT 990 do you hear most of your environment. There are other differences as the DT 990 sounds a little bit clearer, but I do not know that much. I would recommend you to pick the one that fits with the design to you / your environment
The headphones differ in their design: 770 are closed headphones, 880 are semi-open and the 990 are open headphones.
Open headphones usually sound more open, have a larger stage. Grade of the treble range is more consistent and is usually more linear than a closed system.
Open headphones are often more comfortable to wear than closed systems because the ear is well ventilated. However, outside noise is not attenuated and the sound of the headphones can also penetrate accordingly outside.
Closed headphones seal the ear. So can be achieved by an air-spring system a more powerful depth reproduction. Outside noises are well shielded and the sound of the headphones is hardly noticeable. However, the high frequency range is often not very linear and the lack of ventilation can make the longer wear a bit uncomfortable.
Semi-open headphones combine the advantages of the open headphones with a certain attenuation to the outside.
Construction, see sgt119.
The 880 has probably the most neutral mids but a fairly weak bass (so from 200Hz), the 990 is less neutral (the upper bass is emphasized, the KH sounds quite warm) but is otherwise very balanced over the entire amplitude course, the 770 is almost neutral but weakens slightly in the upper bass range, but has the strongest bass of the three and tends to unpleasant outliers in the heights.
Of those I would probably decide for the 990, if it must be closed I would rather take the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x. I have the DT-880 Pro here. Is an excellent headphones but also a little boring.
