This is a completely pointless investment. There are certainly many current models that cost LESS than half and can do the same. Then there are "second hand stores" that spice up older models and sell them for even less. And if you know something, and read in forums / otherwise inform you, you can make yourself a good "tinker" and get away even cheaper.
I have my laptop from one of these used stores, has cost 220 euro, has been running for 7 years and although he was originally intended only for Internet / school, can play on this problem games. Sure, that has its limits (for hours this is not possible), but you do not have to take one of the simplest models like me.
Buy an LT for 600, that's enough for the school.
Save for something else. Car, driver's license, etc.
