My laptop has not started for some time.
All attempts to repair failed.
But I have saved all pictures from the last 10 years on this laptop.
Unfortunately, no backup. Stupid I know.
But I would now like to know if there's still a chance to get the pictures. Especially the ones I put on the desktop.
Yes, you can remove the hard drive (or have someone remove it, if it is not so easy with your laptop and you do not think you can) and then connect it to another PC using an adapter. If the hard drive is okay, you can simply copy the things, otherwise you would have to leave it with data recovery software or send it in if the software doesn't make it.
First, thanks for the quick response.
But is the data from the desktop also on the hard disk? Because we've already tried that and didn't find the pictures.
Everything is on the hard drive. If you call it up, there should be programs, programs (x86), users and Windows. (and possibly other folders.) And then go to User, your name and then the Desktop folder should be there. It may be that you have to make an admin confirmation when trying to open it, a message opens, and then it takes a bit until everything is loaded. Then everything should be there.
Ok then I'll try that again.
Unfortunately there's no folder with a desktop.
Found the folder.
Worked. 1000 thanks.
I just start with Windows 7 on this system. There's the desktop (if the box would run normally) under C: \ Users \ "Username" \ Desktop. Hard to miss.
