Does anyone still have a 14-15 inch notebook, with a serial port (COM port), and would like to get rid of this? I need such a device to program even older telephone systems. Or does someone have a recommendation to max. 100 euro?
Take a USB Serial Converter. You can knock on every RS-232 and you're done.

I'm still looking for a notebook with COM port. If one has something. Or call me a model, just let me know. I'm sitting around for a few hours now, looking for Ebay and co. But, either broken, or no COM interface.
This is very unusual, because the interface is the same in the end. What else would it be, if it were a RS-485, synonymous there are adapters for USB, just because you should not get ahead with a COM port synonymous.
Are you sure that it may not be a problem of the data format (ie the configuration) of the RS-232?
