On my laptop with windows 7 I want to set up Wi-Fi in a library. I got my name and password for this. When I go to the corresponding Wi-Fi, there's no field where I can enter the password and name and so I have no connection to the Internet.

How can I register?

Using Windows 7 with more or less public Wi-Fi access is more risky than ever after the end of support in mid-January.

I can only join Slarti.

Be sure to install another system, e.g. Kbuntu or Windows 10.

How so?

Windows 7 no longer receives security updates. The system is therefore vulnerable to any attack based on the exploitation of security gaps that were still discovered after the last updates. No virus scanner can compensate for this.

Laypeople like to think that they only get malware because they consciously download and install something that is contaminated. This is a serious mistake. For many years, malware has mainly been realized via so-called "drive-by infections" when visiting websites and these are by no means malicious websites, but without the knowledge of their operators manipulated pages of clubs, schools, service providers of all kinds, etc. And how safe the network is the library, the vulture knows.

Connect to the Wi-Fi and then open a browser.
Then hopefully a homepage will open where you can enter your username and password.
