Deactivate MSN Germany on my laptop?

Whenever I open Firefox, I automatically see messages from MSN Germany. I don't want to read these messages though and it annoys me too. Is there any way to disable that? I've googled before, but it only says that you should go to the settings and uninstall MSN Germany. But it is not shown in the list for me. What can I do against it?

Just set up a different homepage, for example Google.

Look under "Settings" → "At startup"

There you can make various settings.
