Work more than 183 days abroad but resident in Germany, double tax?

I'm self-employed, working on my laptop and traveling around the world and working wherever I go for the next few years. Everything I need I have with me. My residence remains registered in Germany, earn my money with German customers and I spend in any country abroad more than 6 months (before that I change to another).

Overall, I'm only in Germany for 3 months a year and on tourist visas abroad. Do I still pay taxes to the countries where I'm on tourist visas or only in Germany? Is my main residence still in Germany?

Difficult topic.

Make sure that you are allowed to work as a tourist in the countries to be visited. Whether laptop or Internet, usually this is not allowed.
Not all states have double taxation agreements.
Carefully keep a book where you are when. Print airline tickets in any case.
Hollow you a tax adviser to the aid, because a tax declaration must give you, if you remain registered in Germany. You probably still need to be insured in CT.

Yes, your main residence remains Germany.

The income earned abroad is either taxable in the respective foreign country (then they are subject to the progression clause here) or they are taxed in D.

This essentially depends on the respective double taxation agreement.

"My residence remains registered in Germany"

The 183-day rule does not matter. The domicile is in Germany (§ 1 (1) p. 1)

You remain taxable with the world incomes in Germany (exceptions and special regulations may be taken from the relevant double taxation treaty with the states where you reside).
