Small problem: I have an MSI laptop with Win10 as the operating system. When I wanted to watch a dvd via drive my laptop did not have a program for it. I actually thought that was the standard. Anyway, I ask myself what I need to install so that I can watch a simple dvd on my laptop

It depends on DVD, on the file extension.
The VLC player can play many file formats.
Videos from the smartphone are often recorded in 3GP format, which Win10 can't play and needs a corresponding player, which tells you Aunt Google.
So my VLC player says that it is a BUP file and he can't play it. But when I look on the Internet for a matching player, I'm synonymous only the VLC player suggested
Win10 does not include a DVD player by default. They wanted to save the license fees.
In the Win10 AppStore, however, such players are available for purchase.
Also other commercial players like WinDVD and PowerDVD are extremely powerful DVD and Bluray players.
But even the widely used VLC player can play DVDs and menus.
