Nvidia RTX 2070 - Steam games crash or freeze, what can I do?

Re
3

I have the MSI Trident X Plus 9SD Desktop PC with 16GB Ram, i7 9th Generation, RTX 2070 graphics card. Previously a laptop MSI GV75, finally wanted to switch to a desktop. And now this:

As a monitor I have the MSI MAG272CQR Curved WQHD, connected with Displayport to one of the three connections on the graphics card.

I also installed the current graphics card driver via Geforce Experience.

Now I've downloaded Steam and tested an older game: Construction Simulator: The game freezes shortly after starting, usually without an error message, but this one came up once:

The game crashed. The crash report folder named "2020-10-07_235336" next to the game executable.

Then tested another game: Train Sim World 2; there also after 1-2 minutes a crash, here with the message: Unreal Engine 4 Crash Reporter: An Ureal process has crashed: UE4-TS2Prototype

As I said, drivers are up to date. Windows updates are complete as far as I know.

Tried to turn down the graphics card with MSI AFterburner, because it is perhaps too good for these games?

Likewise, I changed the resolution and graphics settings and tried.

Nothing helped.

Those games are still crashing.

What else could I do?

The crash report folder named "2020-10-07_235336" next to the game executable.

This file may contain useful information that you should add to the question.

This looks a lot like a driver bug. However, in connection with Directx.

I would do the following:

1.) Windows integrity check. Drivers are more or less part of the operating system. If the operating system has a flaw, this can also lead to errors in the driver.

2.) Reinstall the driver. If possible, I would first uninstall the old driver and then download the correct driver directly from the manufacturer

3.) Install the latest version of DirectX. This should only be necessary when using Windows 7 or older Windows versions.

to 1.)

You open a command prompt as administrator and run the command

src / scannow

out

to 2.) You uninstall the driver via the device manager. Actually, I would try without uninstalling it first.

It is best to download the driver directly from:

https://www.nvidia.de/...px?lang=de

to 3.) See:
