Internet router too slow - can I withdraw from the contract?

We have fiber optic connections in our locality. Of course, I participated and also had a fiber optic connection installed.

DG Premium, as the name suggests, promises a speed of 600 M / bits. I was also tempted to order the probably own router Genexis Platinum on loan - provision price: 90 euro plus 10 euro shipping costs! I was told on the phone that this router is as good as the Fritzbox! The conversation was recorded by the way.

With my laptop I achieve about 210 M / bit in download and about 100 in download with Lan cable with multiple speed tests! If I release the cable connection we only get 40 M / bit in the upload and also about 40 M / bit in the download. And that despite the fact that I didn't move my laptop by an inch, I just zapped the LAN cable! The laptop is still right next to the Genexis router!

If I go two floors higher, I only reach about 20 in the download and also 20 in the upload! The same is done by my not so new 7412er FritzBox and quite easy!

In addition, the range of the router from "Deutsche Glasfaser" is almost a scandal: out of 5 possible range dashes, it at best reaches 2, while the 7412 DSL Fritzbox from 2014 creates either 4 or 5 lines!

So it's only logical that I want to get rid of this thing! I think I was misinformed about the product properties of the Genexis router. Unfortunately I missed the 14-day deadline that entitles you to withdraw your consent by trying it out, researching the internet and talking to the hotline!

My goal is to cancel the rental business via this router, get the 90 euro back and buy a Fritzbox 7590 instead.

My question now: can I claim a return due to a lack of product properties because the range and the speed of the Wi-Fi are very poor? Are there any judgments? What do the courts say? How would you go about it?

Oh yes, the attempts by the technical support did not bring any improvement.

At my complaint with the request to take back the router and reimbursement of the 90 euro deployment fee, there was unfortunately a rejection!

How is your experience there? What are my chances? How can I cancel the deal?

Well it means with up to… Mbit / s

Quite apart from the fact that it should - should! In fact the router is to blame - no problem connecting it.

At best, the statement that the router should be as good as a Fritz! Box… But unfortunately, umpteen people fall for something like that. This statement would have to be proven first - and that should be the case with the variety of functions of the Fritz! Boxing against "provider router" probably won't be possible.
If there's a Fritz! Box would be, then it would appear in large, friendly letters.
Complemental description: Of course, not all routers manufactured by AVM are automatically Fritz! Boxes.

You don't believe company / sales talks, but compare BEFORE the performance characteristics in comparative tests e.g. On the Internet! The Fritz boxes are consistently well-engineered, this company's own says nothing to me.

Write off the 100 euro under course fees! Worth no further trouble with little chance. Always inform FIRST, - NEVER hurry to access… And observe the DEADLINES (tick in the calendar!).

Ma

I took the (not-only) saying or advice from my mother:

"First sleep over it for a night!"… And

I've always "GOOD" with it.

Al

Well, I had already informed myself by comparing the performance data. But they just promised a lot more quality! I have had DSL and several Fritz boxes from 1&1 since 2007, none of them had such a poor range as the Genexis Platinum Router from Deutsche Glasfaser! I mean the thing is from 2019 and doesn't even reach the performance of ancient Fritz boxes in terms of range! I couldn't count on something like that!

Al

Because I know saying from my mother too! But it doesn't make the Genexis Platinum any better!

Ma

Yes, but then it looks like this (your example range) that you knew beforehand that the Genexis MUST be much worse from the start and then was considerably worse again in the 'test phase'.

Ergo is my strong guess that in the SALES TELEPHONE you were comfortable and at the same time reckless and even against better knowledge (your comparisons BEFORE) CONVINCING (CONVINCING did not work with the poor performance data) had the Genexis ordered immediately.

On the one hand, you (rightly) attach importance to high-performance fiber optics and on the other hand, you limit yourself again (rowing back!). That is at least inconsistent and unnecessarily expensive anyway.

Hence "our" saying with the first sleep over it, FOR your next deal, that it was too late for that now, of course. And mistakes that go into the money are hardly repeated.
