Hi, I wanted to test whether I could use the screen of my old laptop, which no longer works, as a second screen for my PC… Then I did some research and found out that I need a controller to connect the monitor. It is not worth it, it would be easier to get a used screen on eBay classified ad, sometimes cheaper.

Yes that is a 40pin for lcd's. But you have a 30pin. So that's not easy.
