Does the screen flicker with videos within Windows?

I have a problem with my laptop. This has an Intel i5 7200u and an Nvidia geforce 940mx.

When I want to watch videos that are not 16: 9, regardless of the program, browser or app, my entire screen flickers. This is then no longer usable, unless the video is minimized, paused or, for example, the browser is closed.

If the video does not end quickly enough (1-3 seconds), the entire laptop hangs up and I either have to save myself with ctrl + alt + or reboot the computer.

This problem exists with the built-in disolay as well as with external monitors. That must mean that either my HDD is at the end (as it sounds), the driver is having problems (although it always worked before) or the hardware of my graphics unit is simply showing its age.

I would appreciate any help

This is normal, Windows tries to display a full screen picture at 16: 9, if you now have a 4: 3 monitor, that is of course stupid. But if you have such an ultra wide monitor, you can virtually share the screen at Samsung, for example.

I have a 16: 9 built-in display and a 16: 9 external monitor.
