Can I put in a laptop where mirrorable hard drives also has only one SSD / hard drive?

Can I put in a laptop where mirrorable hard drives also has only one SSD hard drive

I would be glad for an answer

You can.

Yes.

mirrorable does not mean that it is mirrored automatically and always.
Mirrorable means you do not have to set up this mirroring until you want it. This is called RAID1 system then.

There's also a RAID0, as the hard drives are combined into one large. However, this means that if one disk fails, the data of the other is also no longer readable, because they are distributed 1: 1 between the disks, the risk of data loss is very high there.

The other problem with RAID1 is that you have 2 disks, of which you can use one in the capacity, the 2. Is the mirror (but no backup! Everything that happens on disk 1, also happens on disk 2!).

The third option with this installation is to use both plates independently, as in any normal PC. Since the disks are independently recognized and partitioned, so divided into at least 2 parts (disk 1 C: and disk 2 D: (+ various invisible partitions that Windows itself creates for management)).

Of course, this 3rd option also gives you the option to install only 1 disc and leave the 2nd slot free, or to install a SSD and an HDD that are different in size. This offers the highest degrees of freedom in administration.

A RAID system is only necessary for higher access speed to the data and / or for higher reliability, eg in server systems. Privately you do not need a RAID.

Thank you
