USB port no longer recognizes 2.0 devices, defect?

I played my laptop with an Arduino uno while it came to a short circuit on the Arduino which was unfortunately still connected to my laptop. The laptop is then crashed but luckily rebooted. However, the USB port on which the Arduino was plugged in detects no more devices. The strange is but 3.0 devices are normally recognized on the port. I have already reinstalled the drivers. Can someone tell me what exactly could be defect?

I guess you shot the data ports. At 3.1 Gen1 are now 4 more data pins to say so. Obviously, these 4 are enough. I do not know if that works, but I strongly believe it. If that is the case and what else I can't imagine, you have NEN hardware broken and can't use the port
