How can I digitize my video recorder?
We have a video recorder that is more than 20 years old and have tapes for it. It can be connected to the TV with its AV / Out - Scart cable. Now we want to connect the video recorder to a laptop / PC in order to store the tapes digitally. Unfortunately we don't know how to do that. We got a kind of adapter, which has a scart connection and HDMI output. When I wired everything up and connected it to the PC, there was no notification that a device was connected. The hdmi connection on the pc is not an input but an output. And even if it were an input, the pc would first have to be told that there are pictures.
the simplest would be to get an adapter from A / V to USB. Under the term "video grabber" you will find something. There's also the right software for your project.
