If you no longer have a television, can you connect a VHS video recorder to a (PC) screen and watch the films or on a laptop?

If so, which connections do you need? Currently I have a video recorder with connections as shown in the picture. I'm expecting another used video recorder shortly.

Ever not about which connections are on the other side? Scart - HDMI

Si

There are adapter sets with which you can control the signal

a convert to a file and

b display on a monitor.

Look:

Sp

Which other side? On the PC or on the separate screen?

Ke

From the VCR on the right are connections

Sp

There are no other connections to the device than those shown in the photo.

Sp

Is it really that simple? Only with the cable mentioned? However, I see three plugs on the cable, but only two on my VCR.

Your VHS only has mono the adapter can stereo not bad! Connect yellow with yellow sweat with white or use Y cable

Si

Yes, yellow is video and red is audio on the left and white is audio on the right, mostly you plug in the red one and leave the white one free or connect the red and the white one, as cyclemat suggested.

Addendum, the adapter should have a plug and not as in the picture…

Again completely

If you add a picture of the monitor connection, we can find the right adapter.

lo

Unfortunately the recorder only has mono sound.

you can either use a Y cable, then you will hear the sound equally on both sides, or you can be content with only hearing the sound on the left or right speaker. Depending on whether you plug the white or red plug into the white socket.

The USB connection on the adapter mentioned would be something for the laptop. That would be enough for me. Then I don't need to connect the monitor.

Si

This is not USB but HDMI

Sp

I do not understand. I mean the photo under the Amazon link given above. Isn't that a USB port at one end?

Si

The adapter is for the monitor, hence hdmi. That's why I asked for a picture of the monitor connections in order to be able to look for the right adapter.

Si

You're right.

the other one:

If I have now understood correctly, is the "https://www.amazon.de/Baoblaze-Audio-Video-Adapter-Chinch-Mehrfarbig/dp/B079P4RHRF/ the right one for connection to a laptop and cheaper than the HDMI device anyway?

Si

The HDMI cable and the cable with the cinch plugs are still missing. In addition, it is still missing which connections your monitor has. Whether the proposed fits at all.

Sp

Open, I'll give up. Let's not talk about a separate monitor anymore, but about the laptop. I thought that after the first reference (see above) to the "https://www.amazon.de/Baoblaze-Audio-Video-Adapter-Chinch-Mehrfarbig/dp/B079P4RHRF/ the problem would be solved.

Digitizing a video is very complex. E.g. SW and storage space.

Instead of a monitor, a TV can be used as a playback device.
