In the bios of the CD boats not selectable?

I recently wanted to install a second operating system on my laptop next to Windows 10. I have found that I can't select the CD drive in the BIOS at the boot order or It is not displayed to me. Before that, everything went smoothly.

My bios is a Uefibios.

So there's no UEFI bios. UEFI has replaced BIOS.

If it is not selectable, but you definitely have a CD / DVD drive, you might consider considering to override the driver for your UEFI.

Otherwise: Is a CD boot necessary? Or can you just "burn" the ISO / IMG on a USB stick and make it bootable? Would now be compared to an update of the UEFI the "safer" solution.

Many Thanks. Have the boot file on a stick pulled and tried in the Bios to select the USB stick but that did not work either. Well anyway, thanks for your help.

What exactly did not work?
The selection of the stick, or that it boots from the stick?
