Discord is ruining the audio quality of my mic?

I recently got myself a headset (HyperX HX-HSCA-RD Cloud Alpha).

When I call friends on Discord now, I'm told again and again that the mic makes my voice sound much too "bassy" and that it can sometimes not be heard properly.

At first I thought it was the headset, but I recorded myself on the cell phone as a test and the sound sounds really good.

I also played around with the audio settings on Discord, but that didn't change anything. I don't think it's my computer, as I have the same experience with the laptop I take for college.

Is there anything i can do?
