Separate sound from HDMI?

My problem is the following: I bought a hub, which I only have to plug into my USB-C port on my notebook (win10 pro) and can then load with it & at the same time, this hub also has an HDMI slot and a 3.5mm Pawl. I want to achieve that I only have to plug in the USB-C and then my notebook is loaded, my monitor is connected and my boxes are controlled. Charging always works. Aux 3.5mm works as long as no HDMI is plugged in. As soon as I plug in the HDMI cable, the boxes can no longer be found in the system. Unfortunately the monitor has no aux output so this work-around is out. If someone knew an answer I would be very, very grateful.

Can't do that:

Plug in the HDMI cable, then via Control Panel> Sounds> and then the "Manage audio devices" list. Right-click on the device you want to set as the default for audio output. Maybe deactivate the DisplayBoxes

It does not work. The boxes are no longer recognized or perceived as soon as the HDMI cable comes into the hub.
