Hello together have the following problem, from my external hard drive the cable with USB port can't be plugged into my laptop. Please see the attached picture for more info. My question is what can i do?
Just take another USB cable, you can exchange USB.
Of course, look that both connectors fit.
If your hard disk has a MiniUSB or MicroUSB or MicroUSB Type C connector, this connector should also be present on the cable.
A USB cable can sometimes break.
It is still a piece of plastic (black) in it which has broken out of the USB socket of your laptop.
This piece you can pull out, presumably the plug itself well, but look what USB port to laptop (or where you last used these cables) is broken, not that there's a short circuit.
To recognize nothing.
The open holes must be up.
If that does not work then try another usb cable on a trial basis.
Even without the HDD. First find out if the socket is ok.
If that works, the cable of the Hdd has a problem.
Nothing to recognize? Ever seen the picture?
In the plug is the black opposite of the USB socket, so the socket in the laptop is broken and the contacts are free to move. Questioner puts another cable in the broken USB socket and already made a possible total loss on the board.
I believe you your description.
I have not even come to fie Ide, which could put the jack in there.
Those were probably cold-kissed contacts.
I hope she still has warranty. Even after more than one year warranty period… A clear manufacturer error.
You have to prove that.
Is that good with the photo.
Unfortunately, these jacks are not made of soft plastic material as you could do with that, but made of very hard and easily breakable plastic. A bad move is enough and it breaks. This has nothing to do with solder joints. Unfortunately, this error is also not solved free of charge during the warranty period, it is the same category ("improper handling") as a broken display or power socket… Mess. You can swap these sockets, but the manufacturers do not do something… If something was offered, then a motherboard exchange for uneconomical prices.
The hard drive hang on my TV at the connection. Unfortunately, the television is over 5 years old and the record has been around for several years.
