Windows 7 laptop won't boot due to power failure, what can I do?

Hi, I have a Windows 7 laptop that I actually wanted to upgrade to Windows 10. But for this I had to expand the memory that is reserved for the system, and the battery was empty during the process (yes, I know it's stupid not to plug the laptop in during this process). Now I can no longer boot the laptop and it says gray with a black background "Error starting Windows. The reason for this may be a recent hardware or software change." Now I don't know what to do to get the laptop (at best with Windows 10) working again. If all data is lost in the process, that's not a problem because I made a backup. I'm thankful for every help!

By turning on the Windows stick as normal and doing the setup, I don't quite understand your question.

First of all, thanks for the answer. But I'm not very familiar with the subject. So should I create a boot stick on another laptop and then just plug it into the "broken" one? Then what do I have to do?

I agree.

Boot and install windows

Eve,

Yes, that's a bad business. Windows has just uninstalled Windows 7 and not completely installed Windows 10, which means you are between two incorrectly installed systems. Do you have Windows 7 cd / stick / other insert it and install. If you have a bootable medium like a stick, the program will help you: https://www.microsoft.com/.../windows10 press download tool now and follow the installer! And look that it says on stick install and not on this pc.

Perfect thank you. I hadn't even installed Windows 10 yet, but wanted to enlarge the system reserved partition because otherwise it couldn't be installed. In the end, however, my Windows is broken and your solution helps me.

Ok, I'll try it.
