Laptop: keyboard + power button not working?

I was on the laptop, when my keyboard suddenly stopped working, tried everything, but nothing solved the error. So I shut down the laptop, but the keyboard and power button power lights are still on. Now I can no longer turn it on, even though the lights are on. What should I do?
