Laptop picture on TV settings?

I've transferred with a hmdi cable my picture from the laptop on a tv, only because of the difference in the resolution that picture cut something. How can I scale something out so everything is displayed on the TV. Black bars would not bother me

Which operating system do you have on the laptop?

If you bend the cable accordingly, you can scale the image.

Windows 10

Press the Windows key
settings
system
display
resolution

Then try it out.

Or change the resolution of the TV with the remote control of the TV.
