CPU in USB form as an upgrade of a laptop?

I would like to improve my cpu or replace it with a better one. Question is to be interpreted as in the title above. Does anyone know of you remedy?

Ti

Most (especially newer) laptops don't offer CPU upgrades.

Sa

No, what you think is not possible.

However, a few special laptops offer a free, supporting CPU exchange.
You can get to the mainboard yourself and exchange them

There's no such thing, nor is it really possible with USB. With some laptops, an upgrade of the CPU is quite possible. However, this will generally not pay off.

USB-CPU doesn't have it, that would be a funny thing. With older or larger devices, the CPU is still partially socketed and can possibly be replaced, but since newer devices are subject to the "increasingly slim" delusion, the whole thing is soldered there.

If your CPU is still socketed and exchangeable, this can be a not inconsiderable handicraft and you should know what you are doing. Screwdriving on a laptop is something completely different than on a PC.

USB CPUs would be a funny thing. Unfortunately, they do not exist (the bus width / data rate is not sufficient).

When the CPU is socketed, it is easy. Screw on and replace. However, since around 2014 no sockets have been installed in laptops. Exceptions are extremely high-priced laptops with desktop sockets such as AM4 or LGA 1151v2.

If the CPU is not socketed, it is soldered and therefore not exchangeable. In that case, you would have to buy a better laptop.

If you want, download the program "CPU-Z", install it and look at the socket type. It's best to write him in here.

If the socket type begins with "BGA", the CPU is soldered and can't be replaced.

I thought of something like that only in only CPU.

Nope… It is also a standalone PC and not an upgrade. It has its own USB ports.

This is a dongle for the telly or, as far as I'm concerned, a monitor that is like a mini PC to do some streaming. But actually nothing more.
