I bought a used notebook. The system partition is encrypted with Bitlocker.
The seller does not know the decryption key.
Formatting does not remove the Bitlocker Encryption.
Would the Bitlocker encryption be removed if I deleted the partition?
Are you sure it's BitLocker encryption or maybe a SATA password?
The seller doesn't know the password? Do you have any evidence that he was the rightful owner? Or is the laptop stolen?
How about you just try and see if deleting helps? Not much can go wrong.
The seller certainly didn't steal the laptop. I have an invoice with VAT, etc. And I know the seller personally.
I have now found another solution. With a Powershell command it worked without a password.
Yes it was Bitlocker. The problem has now been solved.
